The commercial side of construction.
Contractors lose more money to billing, compliance and paperwork than to engineering. CMAED Engineers handles that side of your project — and builds the software that keeps it under control once we hand it back.

An engineering company that writes its own software.
CMAED was founded by practising engineers whose daily work is measurement, billing and contract administration on live projects — not by a software team looking for an industry to sell into.
The same complaint reached us from every client. The technical work is manageable. It is the commercial and information side of a project — measurement, RA bills, GST, deviation, reconciliation, site records — where money and time quietly leak away.
Off-the-shelf software did not fix it, because it was written by people who had never raised a running account bill. So we built that side ourselves.
Today the company runs as two divisions. CMAED delivers the construction and contract work. Jhamma AI+ builds the systems that hold that work together after we hand it over.
Around them sit four products — a back-office desk, a bookstore, an academy and the software platform — so a client can start wherever the problem actually is.
A quantity surveyor who cannot build software writes a wish-list. A software company that has never seen a measurement book builds the wrong product. We do both.

Most construction losses are information failures, not engineering failures.
These patterns show up on almost every project, whatever the contract value. None of them are caused by bad engineering. All of them are expensive.
Billing leakage
Quantity is executed at site but never reaches the bill. Extra items are done without an approval trail, and the deduction arrives months later with nothing to argue against.
Decisions taken on a phone call
An obstruction, a drawing mismatch, a material shortage. Somebody senior says go ahead. Later there is no record of who said it, when, or on what drawing.
Compliance left in a black box
GST, TDS and RCM handed entirely to the CA. Nobody inside the business can say what was filed, what was claimed, or what is still recoverable.
Deviation found at the final bill
Overruns against the sanctioned BOQ surface only at closure, by which time the approval that should have covered them cannot be obtained.
A project living in scattered Excel files
Every register on a different laptop, each in a different format, none of them agreeing. Nobody can answer the question that matters: how much of the BOQ is left today?
Your billing department, without hiring one.
Retained monthly support, per-bill assignments, or our engineers working alongside your commercial team. Output comes back in your own format, ready to submit.
Quantity surveying
Measurement and take-off from drawings, measurement books, joint measurement support and quantity computation.
RA billing
Running account bills, abstracts, deviation statements, price variation and final bill preparation.
GST & compliance
Works-contract GST, RCM, TDS, input credit, returns and a compliance calendar you can actually read.
Estimation & rate analysis
Detailed estimates, rate analysis, schedule of rates working and tender rate build-up.
Contracts & claims
Work orders, subcontractor agreements, variation and EOT claims, escalation and delayed-payment interest.
Commercial MIS
Cost against billed value, material reconciliation, recoverable position and project-wise reporting for owners.
Jhamma AI+ — software specified by the people losing the money.
Nothing here was designed in a boardroom. Every platform exists because a live project was leaking, and the specification was written by the quantity surveyor who was watching it leak. Each one runs on a site engineer's phone, over ordinary mobile data.
Flagship · Billing control
BOQ, work order, execution and billing on one line of truth
Four layers, each capped by the one above. Nothing can be billed that was never executed; nothing executed beyond sanction passes unnoticed. On an overrun the system does not block the site — it raises the excess as an extra item for a manager to approve, so the deviation is captured on the day it happens.
Approved BOQ
Sanctioned quantity and rate — the ceiling for everything below it.
Work Order
Issued within BOQ quantity, unless deliberately marked an extra item.
Daily Execution
Day-wise site progress recorded against the work order.
Client & Contractor Bills
Both capped by the quantity actually executed on the ground.
Site Query Desk
Queries raised with photos, video and drawings; verified, resolved and closed with a record that survives a dispute.
Site Register
Daily labour attendance and progress reports, converted straight into cost against each project's budget.
Task Register & Bidding
Accountability fixed at assignment; work packages published, bid and awarded on record.
The AI+ layer sits on top of all of them — reading BOQ and rate data out of Excel instead of retyping it, flagging quantities and entries that do not sit with the rest of the project, drafting query and deviation notes from records already in the system, and answering plain questions about balance quantity and spend. Used where it removes typing, never where it would replace a manager's decision.
Five ways in. Start wherever the problem is.
Not every problem needs a consultant or a platform. Sometimes a team needs to be taught, sometimes it only needs the right format, and sometimes it just needs the work taken off its desk.
The Contractor Guide Series — seven books in plain Hinglish on planning, execution, billing, manpower, legal rights and the hard truths of the contracting business. Plus ready-to-use billing formats, registers and computation sheets built from our own project work.
Live sessions for construction business owners and their billing teams — moving beyond proprietorship, qualifying for bigger tenders, and collecting the full payment you have earned. Taught in Hindi and English by the people who do this work every day.
Our billing and compliance desk on a monthly plan. RA billing, tax invoices, GST filing, ledgers, material reconciliation and reporting — priced for small contractors through to enterprise, with a dedicated billing engineer at the upper tiers.
Billing control, site query, labour and daily progress, task and bidding — deployed on your own hosting and database, so your commercial data stays under your control.
Retained or assignment-based quantity surveying, billing, claims and contract documentation — our engineers embedded alongside your commercial team.
The same chain, at five depths. Clients move between them as they grow — and we are glad to start at the smallest one.
